We are running a Parenting Teenagers Course in central Brighton over 5 Mondays starting 8 May and wanted to publicise it to you for your parent body.
The Parenting Teens Course has been running across the country for many years, and thousands of parents have found it to be a life-line for them as it offers practical tools and ways of navigating the tricky teenage years (ages 11-18).
The Course was designed by Nicky and Sila Lee, authors and international speakers, who present the five sessions on DVD. The two-part talks are interspersed with clips from a range of parents and professionals and the evenings include a very welcome chance for discussion in small groups around various topics. This is often when parents feel most encouraged: to know that they are not the only one feeling challenged with the daunting task of parenting teens, and to discover different strategies and tools to try.
• Keeping the end in mind
• Meeting our teenagers' needs
• Setting boundaries
• Developing emotional health
• Helping them make good choices
The course starts with drinks and desserts at 7.30pm on Monday 8 May and runs each Monday evening until 12 June (half-term break on Monday 29 May) and it costs £15 (bursaries are available).
I have attached a flyer that you are welcome to put in your newsletter, on your website (with a link if that’s helpful https://stpetersbrighton.org/parenting-teenagers) or to send directly out to your parents. We can also send you paper flyers upon request.
I do hope you will feel able to publicise the course to your parent body. Although hosted at St Peter’s Church Brighton, the course is accessible to everyone – mothers, fathers or carers - whether or not they have a Christian faith, and it has been an invaluable tool already to hundreds of families across Brighton.
