Welcome to GCSE Child Development
You will study five modules in Child Development.
- 1. Family structures and parenting
- 2. Pregnancy and Birth
- 3. Physical, Intellectual, Social and Emotional Development – how children grow, learn to speak, play etc.
- 4. Nutrition and health – childhood illness and feeding
- 5. Community Support – what help can families get?
Skills development
- 1. Research
- 2. Presentation of information in a variety of ways
- 3. Practical skills – making a toy/book
- 4. Group work skills
This subject is assessed both through controlled assessment 60% (test conditions with notes) and exam 40%.
