Subject Overview

The ICT Faculty delivers ICT, Computing and Business Studies

We aim to:

• Offer every student a broad and balanced curriculum covering a range of ICT applications

• Promote awareness of being safe when using ICT

• Develop every student's potential by providing suitable challenges and encouraging the pursuit of excellence

• Stimulate every student to become independent, hardworking and self-disciplined

• Create a happy and caring environment which promotes the development of self-esteem and self-confidence

Year 7: During all modules students are assessed using peer assessment and teacher assessment. Students will be given a level and sub level for each module; this will include written feedback with targets.

Homework

KS3 Homework is set once a fortnight in accordance with the homework timetable. Students should spend 30 minutes on ICT homework. Homework tasks will vary depending on the topic covered.

KS4 Homework is set twice a fortnight in accordance with the homework timetable. Students should spend 60 minutes on GCSE ICT/Computing/Business homework. Homework tasks will mostly be based on exam questions.
