After School Activities

Sports Clubs - Monday - Wednesday
Throughout the year PE run a number of clubs, coaching sessions and fixtures. Including badminton, basketball, boys and girls football, cricket, cycling,gymnastics, netball, rounders, rugby, tennis, trampolining and ultimate frisbee. Please check the PE notice board in the Humanities corridor for up to date information on events happening each week. All clubs run from 3.00—4.30pm and are all free unless stated otherwise.

Monday – Dance and Boys’ football
Tuesday - Boys’ Rugby and Girls’ Netball
Wednesday - Girls’ Football and Badminton

Music Clubs
Monday – Soul band 3 - 4pm
Monday – GCSE club 3 - 4pm
Tuesday – Choir 8.15-8.45am Years 7, 8
Tuesday – Choir 3 - 4pm for Years 9,10,11
Wednesday – Keyboard club 8.15-8.45am
Thursday – Drum clinic 3 - 4pm
Friday - Guitar club 8.15 - 8.45am

Tech club for Year 9 starts after half term 3 - 4pm.
Want to learn how to play a musical instrument? Then ask a member of staff in the music department for a form!

Public Services Tuesdays 3-4pm (includes BTEC Public  Service  students).

Chess Club Mondays in EN10 3.15-4pm

Drama Clubs
Rehearsals for Toad of Toad Hall will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Drama Studio or Drama Hall from 3.15-5.00pm. The show has already been cast but new students are welcome to come along and get involved. Performance dates are the 7th, 8th and 9th of December at 6.30pm.
PCS Stage Crew - meet at the drama hall on Wednesday. Learn what it is like to be a theatre technician, learn how to operate lights, sound and to make a set and organise props. 3 - 4.30pm.

Film Club
Aims to make a wide range of films available to young people, which challenge, unite, educate, amaze and inspire. We will enjoy a variety of films that are chosen both by students and staff and have a short discussion and review at the end.

There is an opportunity for you to gain wristbands by writing reviews on the Film Club website and there might also be opportunities in the future for us to invite in people from the film and TV industries to do workshops and talks with us.

Every Wednesday until approximately 5.15pm, with all students welcome in week 1 and just Years 10 and 11 in week 2.  See Mr Whatford in EN9  for a consent letter and then come along and enjoy some excellent films!

Warhammer Club
Games including: Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40,000 and Lord of the rings.
Every Wednesday after school until 5pm.

Art Club
3 - 4pm Tuesdays
and Thursdays in the art rooms.


Design Technology
Tuesdays 3-4.15pm Homework club with support from Mr Bowden in DT1 & DT2
Wednesdays 3-4.15pm
In DT 1 General DT for all year groups.
In DT 2 Graphics and Textiles with Ms Bottani

The Library at PCS
is open until 5pm from Monday - Thursday and until 4pm on Fridays. With Mrs Hussey and Miss Newman


GCSE Coursework and Homework Support Clinics

General IS Support 3.15 - 4.15pm available from Learning Assistants in the ICT rooms everyday except Fridays.

Students who cannot make the sessions or who want extra help can always see their teachers, who are happy to help.

Food Technology IS Clinic
Homework Clinic every Tuesday in FT 1 from 3.15 – 4.15pm, providing general support and guidance for Yr 10 and Yr 11 with their GCSE work.

Food Technology Homework Club and Key Stage 3 Cookery Club
Both on Thursdays from 3.15-4.15pm

Support from Mr Gates for Key Stage 4 students with GCSE / Hospitality work
Key Stage 3 Cookery Club with Ms Delgado

French and Spanish IS Clinics and Clubs 3.15 – 4.15pm
Mondays: Spanish Club Everyone welcome in LA5.
Wednesdays: French & Spanish Homework Clinics.
Tuesday and Thursday –Languages staff available by appointment. 

Science 3.15-4.30pm
This is an excellent opportunity for students to get help with their IS or GCSE coursework.
The clinic is open to everyone, aiming to help every student reach their potential in Science. Mondays 3.15-4.15pm in the Science classrooms

Maths clinics and Clubs all run on Tuesdays and Thursdays
On every Tuesday and Wednesday. Please check with your maths teacher what room you’re meant to be in. All year groups are in different rooms 3 - 4.30pm.

English IS Clinics 3—4pm
Everyday in the English corridor.
Monday - Glee club.
Tuesday – School Newspaper.

Business Studies
Mondays in IT2 3 - 4pm.

ICT
Monday IT2 3 - 4pm.

IT4 is also available daily for general studies from 8.15 - 8.45 and 3.15 - 4.15pm.

Media Studies IS Clinic
Thursdays at 3- 5pm all are situated in the English corridor

Yr 11 GCSE Sociology Coursework Clinic & Catch-Up - Tuesdays in Hu9 from 3 - 4pm
An opportunity to receive support from Mr Peevers to help you meet your coursework deadlines and keep up-to-date with your work.
