DofE Expeditions

Last week year 9 students were faced with possibly the most challenging of weather conditions yet for a Duke of Edinburgh expedition, with temperatures reaching nearly 30 degrees by Friday afternoon.
This did not stop them from applying themselves positively to the challenges ahead of them and every single one of them showed true resilience and determination to complete the 2 days of walking, carrying everything on their backs to keep them going.
Due to the high numbers of students participating in this year's Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, the students were split into 2 expeditions across the week. The first group of students went out onto the South Downs on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th June and the second group on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th.
Having spent the last year working towards the Award, completing Physical, Skill and Volunteering sections, all students passed the Expedition section with flying colours.
Staff were incredibly impressed with all of the participants and would like to say a massive well done to Cassie-Mae, Iara, Lois, Kaelin, Maisie, Madison, Izzy, Katelyn, Mia, Grace, Liv, Ruby, Naiara, Arla, Ruby, Taylin, Paula, Abi, Lucia, Chloe, Sonni, Ollie, Ben, Kayden, Jess, Bobbie, Olivia, Jake, Daniel, Keir, Felix, Ellis, Monique, Otis, Jacob, Harry, Riley, Jude, Esmai, Archie, Harrison, Charlie, Harry Leo and Kimberley.
