Brighton University Visit

On Wednesday 9th January a group of very excited year 9 students travelled to the University of Brighton for a fun packed day at the Moulescoomb Campus.

The day started in the lecture theatre with an interesting talk and some information about the campus. It is the biggest campus in Brighton University with more than 8,000 students. Subjects based there include architecture, business, computing, maths, engineering, product design, life sciences, geography, building, media and pharmacy.

We then had a really interesting tour with some student ambassadors. We were then split into groups and spent some time with an engineering student who set us the challenge of creating a robot and we finished the session with a robot wars competition. Well done to Taylor, Finn, Karl, Ciaran, Sam and Toby who came up with the winning designs.

The campus looks set to change a lot over the next 3 years, we saw the plans for the future developments, so hopefully we'll have chance to visit again when all the new buildings are finished.
