We at Peacehaven Community School (PCS) endeavour to prepare our students for the complex world they are growing into. PCS actively encourage all pupils to grasp the enriching opportunities that are presented to them, nurturing continual personal growth and development.
In September 2015, PCS began offering GCSE Dance as an option for their pupils following the ongoing requests from both parents and pupils. Since September 2015, PCS Dance has grown exponentially. There are now over 40 pupils taking part in GCSE Dance at PCS and this is continuing to grow into a popular optional subject within the current prospectus.
To reward and further educate the current GCSE Dance cohort, PCS will be embarking on one of the biggest school trips the school has seen. In March 2018, the GCSE dancers of PCS will be venturing across the Atlantic to New York for a 6-day educational and enriching trip. This marks an exciting event for the young dancers of PCS where they will watch a broadway show, partake in an Alvin Ailey dance workshop and experience many cultural activities.
With this in mind, we have been doing lots of fundraising at school to help all students the cost of the trip. We have been doing weekly cake sales, a dance celebration evening, a 'spinnathon' (where pupils will aim to cycle the distance from Brighton to NYC) and many other events in the near future.
Any donations given would be greatly appreciated by all the dancers on this trip. They really are working hard to try and raise as much money as possible.
