On Monday November 6th, the Year 10 boys travelled to PACA to play our 2nd game of the season.
The first half was end to end football. We conceded from a corner, as we failed to clear the ball on four occasions and Luca's stretch was not enough to keep out a close range header. We went into half time 1 goal down and disappointed with how we had performed in the first half.
We made a change of personnel swapping Freddie on for Callum, pushing myself up to left wing and Lewis into central midfield. We started the half playing positive, energetic football but struggled to find the final pass in multiple situations.
At last, our breakthrough came after some excellent hold-up play, the ball was played to the edge of the box to me and, as I spotted the run from Louis, I played him in and with a tidy finish, we found ourselves level at one a piece.
We certainly gained momentum from this goal and kept pushing to get in front. A long ball from Freddie was taken down by myself. I turned my man and crossed into the box where Bailey finished with a very composed chest past the keepers reach. 1-2.
As our opponents tired, we pressed harder and after taking on my man, I drilled a cross to the back post where Louis slid in with a finish to get his second, and our third goal.
The game finished 1-3 and we travelled home with smiles on our faces. It truly was a superb second half performance from all of us. Thank you to Mr Brooks for driving us all that way and of course to Mr Broadbent for inspiring such a fantastic comeback. Well done lads!
