Is there really no such thing as a free lunch?
For many young people in Peacehaven there could be…

Did you know that your child could be entitled to a free school lunch if your family get any of the following support?

• Income Support
• Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
• An income-related employment and support allowance
• Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190

Why apply?

They are healthy - School dinners aren’t all semolina and turkey twizzlers, our onsite catering team freshly prepare a range of tasty and healthy meals and snacks every day. Research suggests that a healthy lunch can increase children’s concentration.

It will save you money – If you have 3 children and spend £2 a day on lunchbox ingredients for each of them that adds up to nearly £1000 per year. Just imagine what else you could spend that money on!

It will save you time - If you spend 15 minutes a day preparing a packed lunch for your child you will have spent nearly two whole days making packed lunches by the end of the school year!

You will be helping your child’s school – For every child who receives free school meals the government gives extra money to the school to help us provide all children at PCS the best possible education.

How to apply?

Simply click here to download the form and return to PCS reception. If you are eligible, credit will be automatically added to your child’s swipe card at the start of each school day. They will then be able to use it to buy a snack at break and a sandwich or a hot meal at lunch time. The choice is theirs!

Fill in the form today and you’ll be helping your child concentrate, be providing extra funding to the school and saving yourself time and money.
