Peacehaven Community School (PCS) is a proudly comprehensive school. This means diverse teaching opportunities, from supporting SEN students with complex needs - some of whom may also be gifted and talented and studying in our Baccalaureate stream – to working with learners who are new to English. Our approach to each child is the same; we want to support them to achieve their dreams. We don’t believe in barriers and we don’t believe in labels; we believe in hard work and high aspirations. If you are ambitious for yourself and for the students you teach, we would like to meet you.
PCS is a school that knows what it is: a place of learning.
Since November 2015 Swale Academies Trust (SAT) has been supporting the leadership of the school. SAT has a proud history of supporting non-selective schools to out-perform grammar schools in Kent. Here in East Sussex, the Trust is applying those same principles to areas where students have not had the advantages given to their peers in more affluent areas.
We are an Ofsted rated 'Good' school.
This is your opportunity to join our inspirational and forward-thinking team, making a significant and measurable difference in improving the educational
attainment of the children and young people in this inclusive community.
Educating young people can be one of the hardest jobs there is. Trying to educate the most vulnerable, at the point when they are pushing the other adults in their lives away, is the hardest part of a very hard job.
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to young people's lives. The right person for this job will know that young people need clear boundaries and high expectations. They will be good at talking to teenagers, but no push-over.
The job will mean working with students after they have done something wrong, helping them to accept the consequences of their actions and getting them ready to return to lessons ready to succeed.
Closing date: 13:00pm, Monday 21st January, 2019.
Completed application forms should be emailed to Loren Davies firstname.lastname@example.org
