Outreach

As a training school, we are involved in many different outreach activities providing development and training for staff within our partner schools and institutions. Below is a summary of the most recent outreach activities:

Meridian Coastal Learning Communities Functional Skills Day- an INSET day planned in conjunction with Seaford Head Community College and Tideway School

Raising Aspirations Development Day - an INSET day planned with our local infant, junior and primary schools to discuss how we can work as a community to bridge the gap of underachievement

NQT mentoring - teaching staff from PCS have supported the development of NQTs at Hoddern Junior School, providing input through staff development sessions as well as mentoring support through lesson observations and coaching in the year 2009-10

Training provided to a wide range of partners including:

• East Sussex Deputy and Headteachers
• University of Sussex PGCE Professional Tutor training
• East Sussex CPD Leaders
• Kent Local Authority Science Leaders
• University of Sussex Learning Assistant Training
• University of Sussex Social Work BA students

NQT Network Meetings - From September 2010, PCS will continue to strengthen its links with local institutions, hosting and providing training for NQTs in primary and secondary schools in East Sussex.

11-19 Consortium - CPD leaders from local schools and colleges are working together to develop cluster based CPD, creating networks of staff with similar roles to share and develop practice.
