Following our very successful trip to Normandy this year we are offering all of our year 8 students the fantatic opportunity to take part in a culturally specific residential visit to the Northern French coast next year.  In order for the trip to run we need a minimum of 40 students.

Itinerary

Join us for 4 fun packed days in Normandy from Tuesday 11th July – Friday 14th July 2017. You will have an opportunity to speak French in real settings (order food and drink, buy souvenirs, ask for directions etc) and immerse yourself fully in French history and culture. You will visit the picturesque fishing port of Honfleur, the infamous town of Bayeux and spend time at the DDay landing beaches with an experience of the 360 cinema in Arromanches. You will also have an opportunity to visit a Goats cheese farm and learn all about the making of French cheese. The trip will also visit to a local theme park.

Travel and Accommodation

With Equity Travel, part of the Inspiring Learning Group, who have many years’ experience organising school travel. We will travel by Coach and Eurotunnel. We will stay in a hotel near to Arromanches where all rooms are en-suite. We will have breakfast and evening meals at the hotel. Packed lunches will be provided for all other meals.

Cost and other important information

The cost of the trip will be £330.00 (this price is based on 40 students), to include travel, insurance, accommodation, breakfast and evening meals and all entry fees. Students in receipt of free school meals the cost of the trip will be subsidised. Students will need their own full passport (this can be applied for through your local Post office) and EHIC Card. Students who are not eligible to hold a British passport must seek advice from Ms Turner before signing up for this trip. Further information will be made available to students opting to join this trip. Please note that there will be times (i.e. in the theme park) when students will be given opportunities to go round in friendship groups (no less than 4 students), unsupervised by a member of staff. A member of staff will always be ‘on call’ at an emergency meeting point during these times. Students will also be given a mobile phone number to ring in an emergency.

How to apply for a place

Return the slip to Reception with a non-refundable deposit of £50 between 8.00- 8.40am on Friday 23rd September. Please note further instalments will be payable monthly between now and May. If you take or have taken your child on a family holiday during term time (unauthorised or authorised), we are unable to allow the student to participate in residential trips within the same academic year. If a reservation for a school residential was made prior to a holiday request, full payment for the trip will still need to be made.
