We are offering all students of Year 7, 8 and 9 the opportunity to learn to ski at Le Corbier, a beautiful resort in the French Alps. In order for the trip to run, we need a minimum of 34 students.
Students will enjoy 6 full days at the resort, with 4 hours of ski tuition per day. There will also be a range of evening activities on offer, including ice skating and a crepe night. Students will also be able parts of the resort close to the hotel on foot.
With Equity Travel, part of the Inspiring Learning Group, who have many years’ experience organising school travel. We will travel by air from Gatwick, with transfers by coach. We will stay in Equity Club Le Mont Corbier, where all rooms are en-suite. We will have breakfast, lunch and evening meals at the hotel, as well as an afternoon tea following the second ski lesson each day.
The cost of the trip will be £816.00 (this price is based on 34 students), to include all travel, insurance, accommodation, all meals, ski pass, poles, skis and helmets. Other equipment, such as ski jackets, gloves, goggles and sallopettes will need to be purchased separately, or can be hired in advance for a very reasonable price. Students will need their own full passport (this can be applied for through your local Post office) and EHIC Card. Students who are not eligible to hold a British passport must seek advice from Ms Benzie before signing up for this trip. Further information will be made available to students opting to join this trip. Please note that there will be times (i.e. after ski lessons) when students will be given opportunities to go round in friendship groups (no less than 4 students), unsupervised by a member of staff. A member of staff will always be present and available at the hotel during these times. All ski lessons will be provided by qualified instructors, and students will be supervised on the ski slopes at all times.
Return the slip to Reception with a non-refundable deposit of £165 on or before 6th February 2017. Please note further instalments will be payable monthly between now and November. If you take or have taken your child on a family holiday during term time (unauthorised or authorised), we are unable to allow the student to participate in residential trips within the same academic year. If a reservation for a school residential was made prior to a holiday request, full payment for the trip will still need to be made.
Please note that Year 9 students that are taking GCSE Drama or Drama Tech, will be unable to go on the trip due to an exam clash.
Gatwick has road closures this weekend. It should not be a serious problem, as there are diversions to the South Termnal.
