Trip open to Year 8, 9 and 10

During Enrichment Week we will be taking a PCS trip to Ypres, Belgium. On Thursday 13th July, leaving early, we will spend the day exploring the city and its environs.

We will visit Tyne Cot Cemetry and Passchendale Museum Zonnebeke. We will see the Menin Gate and visit a famous Chocalaterie (chocolate maker!).

The maximum number of students will be 44. Students will be accepted onto the trip on a first come first served basis. However this will be subject to good attendance (at least 95%) and a good behaviour record (less than 10 points).

The cost will be £40.00 – this covers the coach and ferry travel as well as a visit to Flanders Museum. Students will be expected to travel on their own passports. Please confirm on the reply slip that your child has a valid passport. They will also need a valid EHIC card. Students will be encouraged to bring a packed lunch and enough snacks to keep them going during the day, although there may be places to purchase food. More exact timings will follow once numbers have been confirmed, but I would like to alert you to the fact that there will be a very early start and late finish in order to make the most of the day (approx. 4.30am – 10.30pm).

If you would like your child to participate in the day trip could you please return the slip below by Monday 5th June.

Only a deposit of £5.00 (payable by Parent Pay) is required at this stage to secure a place, once spaces are filled you will be informed as to whether your child has a space or not and you will be able to pay the balance on parentpay.

If you require any further information please feel free to contact me at school dhill@pcs.e-sussex.sch.uk . If you would like to your child to attend but are having financial difficulties please contact Mrs Wiles on 01273 575802 to discuss payment options.
