Advanced Sports Imaging Workshop

The above image is a representation of thermal imaging
The University of Brighton visited PCS last Tuesday and delivered a fantastic workshop to thirty year 10 students.
The students used two types of high technology camera. Firstly, a thermal imaging camera was used where students photographed themselves before and after exercise on certain parts of their body.
Secondly, a high speed camera was used to measure the speed of a moving ball. We managed to measure the fastest kick of nearly 40 miles per hour! It was a fantastic morning where students not only used this equipment but learnt about careers involving Sport, Science and Maths.
We hope that this workshop will inspire our students to go onto study Science / Maths / PE at University. Mrs Meredith
