Welcome and Welcome Back 2011!

A very warm welcome to our website. I do hope you will be able to find the information you need if you are currently one of our parents or students. If you are a prospective student or parent, I do hope the website gives you a flavour of the school.

Peacehaven Community School is known as PCS and is a relatively new school. This year we celebrate our tenth anniversary. So much has been accomplished in that short time. Hundreds of students have joined us- many of whom are now at university, in successful careers or fulfilling jobs.

We have gone from strength to strength, achieving Specialist School status in Science and Maths, become a Training School, gained Artsmark Gold status, Healthy School status, Sportsmark, Enquiry School status … but most importantly of all we have created a positive, happy, diverse environment where students can succeed whatever their abilities and needs.

We work as a team – students, teachers, support staff, governors, parents and volunteers – all playing their part in ensuring a rich learning environment where aspirations and standards are high, where behavioural expectations are robust, and where outcomes are consistently good.

When visitors look round our school, one word is consistently used to describe the atmosphere, that word is ‘calm’ and we believe that sense of calm allows positive interactions to take place between staff and students and allows deep learning to take place.

We are not complacent – there is so much more we want to do for the young people whose lives we share for five years as they progress toward adulthood-and we have the drive, vision and determination to go even further in our next decade.
