Year 10 Students – Work Experience (27 June to 1 July 2011)

A message from Mrs Hill

I have now written to all the employers that the students selected on Veryan for their Work Experience placements. The replies I have received so far are not very positive except for those placements which students arranged themselves.

There is still time for students to arrange their own placements. Please use the Christmas break to investigate your own placement and make contact yourselves, especially if you want a particular type of placement or a placement in a specialist area. Once students have arranged their own placement I just need the full contact details (contact name, company name, address and phone number), bring them in to me after Christmas or email me on lhill@phcs.org.uk

Remember - employers will need to have Employee Liability Insurance in place to be able to take a student on Work Experience.

All Year 10 students will be bringing home a letter about the process of selecting a placement for Work Experience Week in June/July next year.

On Monday 18 October at 5.30pm we are holding an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) event for Year 10 parents/carers. This will give you an opportunity to receive information on the following: If you would like to attend this IAG event, please contact Lynn Hill or call 01273 575804 to book your place.
