Y7 Celebration of Progress
Dear PCS families,
At PCS we want our students to be proud of the work they have completed in their exercise books. We recognise that achieving this involves a close partnership between parents, students and teachers. Therefore we are holding a “Celebration of Progress” weekend for our Year 8 students over the weekend of 27th -28th November.
Students will bring their books home on Friday 19th November. They will be given a bag to bring their books bag to school on Tuesday morning.
We encourage you to spend some time with your child, looking together at the work they have produced in their books. We expect books to be well presented, and work to be complete. Teachers provide feedback in a variety of ways, including verbal and written feedback. The ‘What Went Well’ (WWW) and ‘Even Better If’ (EBI) is used to help students understand not only what they have achieved, but also what steps they need to do next, for future progress. Students engage with and respond to this feedback in a purple pen, allowing them to refine or improve their work. Written feedback in this format should happen at least twice a term.
We really value your feedback. Please let us know what you think about your child’s books and the progress they are making by providing answers to our simple questions.
Please follow this link to complete our questionnaire -
We would appreciate completed responses by the end of the day on Tuesday 23rd November.
We hope that you enjoy this opportunity to talk to your child about their work.
