Letter from Headteacher
Dear PCS families,
Thank you for your continued support with all that we do at school. It has been a busy term and I have been so proud of how the students have engaged with us in their learning journey. They are a credit to you.
Celebration of Progress
I hope that you enjoyed looking through your child’s books with them during our celebration of progress. The students have been telling us how proud they are of their work and have liked being able to show you more of what they are learning. We hope to repeat this activity again and thank you for the feedback you have given us.
Students have been excellent at embracing the current requirements to wear face masks (unless exempt) in communal areas in school. We are also keeping to our normal risk reducing measures, such as using the one-way system and prompting our hygiene routines. I would encourage them to bring in reusable masks to think of the environment! We are doing all that we can to ensure that the school performances go ahead and appreciate the support you are giving us by taking LFD tests twice weekly and taking PCRs if you have any of the classic Covid-19 symptoms, following Government guidance on self-isolation.
We are organising a Christmas lunch for students on 16th December. They will eat this in the main hall in their year groups and will be served by our PCS staff. This is offered at £2.20 (and free for those who are entitled to free school meals). Money will need to be handed in to reception by Friday 10th so our caterers can know numbers. Please bring in cash (£2.20) and hand it in to reception, along with the form here, no later than 10th December. There will be no other food served at lunch that day, so if your child is not having Christmas lunch then you will need to provide a packed lunch. We are looking forward to celebrating with the students. A paper copy of the order form will be given to students on Thursday.
Last day of term
This is Friday 17th December and we finish at 12:15. Students will have a longer break to enable them to get food as we will not be serving lunch on that day. I am asking that all staff are off site during the break so that they can take well deserved time to rest and be with their friends and family. This means that there will be very limited communications during the break. We will be providing on site LFD testing on our return in January and are awaiting further Government guidance on this and I will communicate that with you.
