Home Testing Letter

Harvey Waller - Tuesday, March 30, 2021

Following the success of the asymptomatic testing programme on the return to school, it is vital to keep testing at home throughout the Easter holidays and into the summer term.

We have been impressed with the commitment our students have had with taking the tests and keeping our school safe. Please can you continue to test twice a week at home from now on and report results online as positive, negative or void. This information is critical in helping us to understand the prevalence of the virus across the country. Please do continue to test twice weekly over the Easter holidays.

It is vitally important that you test your child before returning to school or college for the summer term, either the night before, or morning of, the first day back, to find and isolate any positive cases. Please email us immediately if the case is positive and do not send your child into school at

All positive results from rapid tests undertaken at home do need to be confirmed with a standard PCR test. Following a positive LFT test at home, a confirmatory PCR test should be booked online or by calling 119. Whilst awaiting the PCR result, your child and their close contacts should self-isolate. If the PCR test is negative, it overrides the self-test LFT test (at home only) and a child can return to school.

Thank you for your full support with our measures to help keep our community and school safe and free from Covid 19.

If you have any further questions about home testing, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely

Mrs V Jenkins
Deputy Heateacher
