Letter to Parents

Harvey Waller - Friday, March 12, 2021

It has been wonderful to have our students back in school this week for face to face teaching. Students have adapted well with their return and the changes made to enhance our risk reducing procedures.

We have had a huge response to our lateral flow testing of students with over 1500 Tests completed over the past 10 days. The students have been impressive, taking their tests and understanding that this is an important safety measure for the whole of our community. We have one further week of testing within school, after which, we will provide all students with their home testing kits. Once these have been taken please remember to register the results with the NHS. Instructions will be given with the home testing kits.

During school we are keenly focussing on literacy, reading, writing and oracy. During lockdown the students have spent lots of time using keyboards and we will now focus on the work in books and developing and restoring students’ stamina with writing.

Thursday 18th March is our scheduled INSET day where all members of staff will have continued professional development in questioning, provision for SEND students, differentiation and assessment and feedback. As this is our INSET day the school will be closed to students for teacher training.

Thank you for sending your children in with the correct equipment and uniform prepared for learning. Your ongoing support is truly appreciated as we work through the pandemic.

Take care and keep safe.

Yours sincerely

Darren Warner-Swann
Head of School
