Y10 Taster Days

Harvey Waller - Monday, June 21, 2021

BHASVIC
Have cancelled their Year 10 Taster day on Wednesday 14th July. Further information will be available from September regarding Taster Days.

Varndean
Further to the Government’s announcement of a four-week delay in the Covid roadmap, Brighton & Hove City Council released guidance stating that all transition events should not be held in the City this term. As a result we are having to postpone our Year 10 Taster Days planned for July as we need to comply with local guidance.

Varndean College and BHASVIC have taken the joint decision to offer a Sixth Form Experience Day in the Autumn term instead and we will be ensuring that there will be enough places for all existing Year 10 applicants to spend a day with one of them.

GBMET College
Has postponed it's taster days at all campuses until the autumn term.

Students who were due to attend will now be expected in school on those days.

DV8 Taster Day
Following the Government's update on Monday 14th June, DV8 have postponed both of their Year 10 Taster Days on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd June.

As a result students who were due to attend will now be expected to be in school.

They hope to reschedule these events in July, in line with Government guidance, and we will keep you updated.

East Sussex College Group
Have cancelled their Year 10 Taster Days at all campuses - Eastbourne, Hastings and Lewes.

Therefore students who have registered to attend will now be expected to be in school on those days.

At present none of the other Post-16 providers have cancelled their taster days but if we receive information to this effect you will be notified.
