25 Years of PCS Success!
On Friday 18th September Peacehaven Community School welcomed the local community to a Silver Jubilee ‘Open House’ event. PCS has been at the heart of our community for a quarter of a century.
The Community campaigned for a local school for 35 years and finally, in September 2001, after years of meetings, petitions and demonstrating, Peacehaven Community School opened its doors to its first cohort of very excited year 7 students.
Whether they were former or current students, former or current staff, interested neighbours, stakeholders or local dignitaries, hundreds of members of our community attended the event. We were also delighted to welcome our local MP Chris Ward as well as our Deputy Mayor Cllr.Wendy Veck.
We were particularly honored to welcome three of the key lead campaigners - Virginia Barker, the Chair of The Parents Action Group, Lindsey Armstrong, The Parents Action Group Press Officer and Lynn Enever the Parent Action Group secretary, who were able to share their memories.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and hear so many stories of the past, our ‘memory wall’ soon filled up!
It was an incredibly joyous event, and we would like to thank everyone who was involved for their support.
