International Football Success

During the Christmas break Year 11 student Tyler took part in an England Under 16 football camp.

We are proud to announce that Tyler represented England against Ireland and Holland during this camp. Everybody at the school is extremely proud of Tyler's success. Tyler shared his experience of the camp with us:

My England Experience
Being picked to play for England was an honour and something I have worked hard to achieve.

I arrived at St George’s Park feeling confident and excited for the challenge ahead.

The settling in period was a great chance to meet some of the best players from around the country. The week consisted of educational lessons in the mornings and training in the afternoons. There was also a lot of free time to get to know my new teammates. The third day was the day of my international debut vs Ireland.

I felt a great sense of pride walking onto the pitch for the first time wearing an England shirt, particularly when the national anthem started to play.

Being my first game, I played well and really enjoyed it. This game ended with a comfortable 2-0 victory for England.

The following day was spent training using what we’d learnt in preparation for the game against Holland.

After winning the game against Holland 4-2, I received the England shirt that I wore during my debut and my official cap for representing the country, which is something I am extremely proud of and a moment that I will never forget.
